Creating a more productive and competitive economy

Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos, in an interview on Monday with OPEN TV, stated that “we are creating a more productive, more competitive, and more export-oriented economy. We are changing the country’s production model and boosting the disposable income of all Greeks, based on the responsible policies of recent years and the efforts of the entire society… With the measures announced by the prime minister at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), the institution of the family is strengthened, as the two-percentage-point tax reduction for everyone goes up, depending on how many children each household has,” underlined Theodorikakos.

“Young people up to 30 years old are also particularly supported, as their taxation is significantly reduced,” he added.

Regarding the establishment of the new Independent Authority for Consumer Protection and Market Supervision, he pointed out that “we are legislating it in October, and its purpose is to protect all citizens, as everyone will know where to go to solve a problem. We are unifying all inspection mechanisms, reinforcing them with 300 additional inspectors and new digital tools, with the goal of enforcing competition rules – since only in this way can prices be reduced. I call on all political forces of the country to support this effort,” Theodorikakos said.
