sorry to rope in the whole country of finland on this one, but couldnt find a subreddit for arabia finland. I bought this vase (circa 1964-1971 based on the mark) off ebay awhile ago and it is my favorite decor item! I’d like to find matching items that may have went with this. But all of my searches only turn up the Anja Juurikkala designs which this is different from. I found one similar plate with just a goldfish in the same exact design in latvia on etsy years ago but someone snatched it up, but at least i know its not a one-off.

Also does anyone know what the two underneath the mark means?

  1. FWIW, I’ve never seen these before! They’re gorgeous, I’d be surprised if they were mass produced. 

  2. Seems like someone had painted it by hand, probably at kansanopistos’s porcelain painting course. Those plain white vases, plates and other dishes have been good base for training. I have one butter case from same period as yours, and have seen them occasionally around, with very different paintings.

  3. I’m pretty sure they were painted by hand, not by Arabia.
