Learn How to Get Involved and Volunteer in Wilton at 2nd Annual Volunteer Fair

Wilton Youth Council’s Mental Health Task Force and Wilton Library are co-hosting their second Volunteer Fair on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 1-4 p.m. This event is part of the #Wiltoniswhereyoubelong campaign, a comprehensive initiative aimed at promoting inclusivity and enhancing everyone’s sense of belonging within the Wilton community.
Everyone is invited to visit the library’s Brubeck Room to explore the many volunteer opportunities for all ages available through Wilton organizations.
While many Wilton organizations benefit from and are run by volunteers, Mental Health Task Force officials say there are also health benefits that volunteering can bring individuals.
“Volunteering is shown to improve both physical and mental health and also bring a sense of belonging while building community relationships for volunteers,” Wilton Youth Council Executive Director Chandra Ring said. “Volunteering is an excellent way to foster and build relationships. With a focus on building connections amongst community members, this event is a perfect opportunity to further our mission of supporting wellness”
Wilton Library Executive Director Caroline Mandler called last year’s event a “tremendous success, connecting over 500 people with local non-profit organizations. We look forward to hosting the Volunteer Fair again this year, continuing to strengthen the connections within the Wilton community.”

Circle of Care Takes CT’s Only Statewide Childhood Cancer 5K Walk/Run to Sherwood Island

On Sunday, Sept. 28, Circle of Care will host Make Tracks at Sherwood Island State Park, Connecticut’s only statewide walk and 5K run supporting all families in the state facing childhood cancer.
For the past decade, Circle of Care’s Walk/Run has brought the community together in Wilton. This year, the event relocates to Sherwood Island, reflecting the organization’s expanded reach and growing impact across Connecticut. Each year, about 200 children in the state are diagnosed with cancer, with more than 500 in treatment at any given time.
Open to the public, Make Tracks offers something for everyone: a timed 5K for runners and joggers, a relaxed untimed walk for all abilities, and activities for all ages. The event raises both awareness and vital funds to help Circle of Care provide practical, emotional, and financial support to families when it matters most—and there’s no better time to show support than during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September.
