Israel carried out an attack against the Hamas leadership in Doha, an Israeli source told CNN, after an explosion was heard in the Qatari capital.
The source didn’t say who was targeted, but Hamas leaders have used the Qatari capital as a headquarters outside of Gaza for years.
On Monday, Hamas’ chief negotiator Khalil Al-Hayya met with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Doha.
The attack appears to mark the first time Israel has launched an operation in Qatar.
Submission statement: Israel claims attack, first of its kind, in Qatar. The strike targeted Hamas leadership. Multiple explosions reported on in multiple locations.
Better late than never!
I wonder if this was coordinated with Qatar? At least behind the scenes.
Approved by Trump and most likely Qatar.
A week ago Trump warned them that it’s their last chance. I guess he didn’t bluff this time.
Crazy, I never imagined they would do that, considering Qatar’s role as a mediator.
I suspect Qatar knew, though.
It’s almost inconceivable that Qatar had no advanced warning, and in all likelihood, they signed off on it
These are the same guys who have been negotiating ceasefires and peace treaties all along?
Also how many sovereign nations has Israel bombed in the last year? This must be the sixth.
Tell me who is the terrorist state.
So did Saudi, Iraqi and Kuwaiti air defense not notice over flights or did they allow it?
Either the Qataris knew and Israel/Trump still pushed it through against their wishes (and what could they realistically do to stop a strike, and what do they gain?) or the Israelis forced this on Qatar to seriously damage their reputation in the Middle East by making them look weak.
Killing these negotiators wasn’t going to change anything militarily for Israel. To me, it seems like a way to wreck Qatars standing, wouldn’t even doubt it’s a way to keep the Saudis and Emiratis happy. Those two have horrible PR in the Middle East since they’re seen as complicit in Israeli crimes. Perhaps this is a way to keep the Abraham accords viable to the Saudis.
Saudis fear Qatari influence and to a lesser extent Emirati influence. And they recently implied the Abraham accords are over if Israel takes the West Bank. They’re definitely celebrating n Riyadh today over this strike.
Israel is more and more a threat to world peace. How is this even allowed? Where are the sanctions? Why is this tolerated?
The war is over, the winner chooses his own terms.
Is this the first time one of Trump’s deadlines was actually followed up on?
>”We’re working on a solution that may be very good,” he said. He declined to give further details. “You’ll be hearing about it pretty soon. We’re trying to get it ended, get the hostages back.”
> Earlier on Sunday, he warned Hamas to accept his terms of an agreement, without giving any specifics.
>”The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one!”
