Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis has dismissed as “false and misleading” a Cypriot media report alleging that a family member was involved in the Greece-Cyprus electricity interconnection project.
He stressed that no family member has any ties to the project, that the company mentioned has had no involvement since 2023 when Greek power grid operator ADMIE, also known internationally as IPTO, took over, and that no judicial investigation is underway.
Gerapetritis described the publication as defamatory and timed to serve vested interests opposed to the project.
The minister said he is collecting evidence to restore the truth and will pursue all legal remedies against those responsible.
