The Duke of Sussex was greeted with cheers as he arrived at a charity in Nottingham where he announced a large personal donation to Children in Need.
Prince Harry waved to the crowd of about 100 local people, and gave a thumbs-up before he went inside the Community Recording Studio (CRS) on the second day of his first trip to the UK in five months.
The Duke’s black Range Rover was around 40 minutes late because tube strikes made the London traffic heavier than usual.
Harry announced a £1.1 million donation to Children in Need during the visit, which will be used to support grassroots organisations, primarily in Nottingham, working to help youngsters impacted by violence.
On Monday evening he attended the WellChild awards, where he spoke to unwell children about their achievements.
In one conversation the duke brought up “challenging” sibling relationships, as his rift with his own brother, Prince William, continues.
The pair are not expected to meet during Harry’s trip. However, the visit has sparked speculation he will see his father, the King, whom he last met face-to-face a year-and-a-half ago.
Harry’s trip to the UK this week marks his first time in the country in five months.
He last visited the UK in April, when he lost his legal challenge against the Home Office over his UK security arrangements.
He sat in court during the hearing, but was not present when the judgment was handed down.
He later told the BBC that his father will not speak to him because of the court battle.

Prince Harry revealed that he and Meghan Markle are keen viewers of a popular reality TV show while speaking to WellChild award winners.
When he chatted to Grace Tutt, 13, from Sevenoaks – who is wheelchair-bound after a bus crash – the Special Recognition winner turned the tables after his flurry of questions and asked the duke for Netflix recommendations.
Harry said he and wife, Meghan, who live in California after stepping down as working royals, watch political thriller Hostage together and he also enjoys the reality TV show Love Is Blind.

The Duke of Sussex has just finished the second day of his trip to the UK.
It is his first visit to the country in five months, and the longest since the death of his grandmother.
Since arriving on Monday, he has paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth at her tomb in Windsor, attended a WellChild awards ceremony and visited a Community Recording Studio in Nottingham.
The remaining two days of his schedule are less clear, though he is reportedly expected to attend engagements connected to the Invictus Foundation and the Diana Award.

Despite relocating to California, more than 5,000 miles away, and giving up his role as a working royal, Harry vowed that he would maintain his links with Nottingham.
He first visited the Community Recording Studio in 2013 and was deeply inspired by the teenagers involved and their mentors.
He has since returned on multiple occasions, both privately and on official royal engagements, most recently in 2019.
“I’ll continue to stand with you,” he said. “Nottingham has my respect, it always has, my commitment, and a permanent place in my heart.”
The duke said the city had taught him “important lessons” and had “truly” inspired him. I’ve lost count of the number of visits I’ve made here, and the amount of jerk chicken I’ve eaten on almost every occasion on the way back,” he said to much laughter. “It really is banging.”
Harry added: ”For nearly 15 years I’ve been working alongside communities to tackle violence impacting young people, particularly knife crime, which remains one of the most urgent issues facing this country.
“During all that time, Nottingham has been a place where I’ve heard harrowing stories, learned important lessons, seen resilience, and felt truly inspired.”

The Princess of Wales is to carry out two further engagements this week by visiting textile manufacturers in Suffolk and Kent.
Kate, who made a surprise appearance alongside the Prince of Wales on the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death on Monday, will take a tour of Sudbury Silk Mills in Sudbury, Suffolk on Thursday, followed by a trip to Marina Mill in Cuxton, Kent.
The princess’s engagements come during brother-in-law Duke of Sussex stay in the UK, and will take place on what is expected to be Harry’s last day of charity visits.

The Duke of Sussex posed for selfies with fans and waved at the crowd again as he left the Community Recording Studio (CRS) in Nottingham.
He hugged the organisers of the charity goodbye before someone in the crowd shouted “Can I get a quick picture? Oh please?”
Harry jogged towards the supporters and posed for selfies with a few of them and shook the hands of a couple others.
The duke got into a Range Rover and was driven away.
