Captains of Pakistan and India show a glimmer of what is in store in Asia Cup – The Indian EYE

Asia Cup 2025 is going to kick start today, but before that first the captains of all the teams – India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Oman, Hong Kong and the UAE – were present in a customary joint-press conference. The press conference went on the same route as many had expected and the most questions were aimed towards India and Pakistan captains – Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Ali Agha.

But when the press conference ended, Pakistan’s captain Salman Ali Agha was one of the first to head out and didn’t wait for customary handshakes or hugs on the stage. Salman was seen heading straight towards the exit door after the session had ended. On the other hand the Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav stayed at the stage and shook hands and hugged other captains on the stage before the event ended.

This gave many an idea of the hostility between the two nations and how tense the match is going to be on September 14th. Talking about the match both captains were asked about the high intensity match and how they were going to control their player’s aggression in the high octane match.

Surya stated that he thinks aggression is always there and to win you will need aggression. While answering the same question, Pakistan’s skipperAgha said that he wants his players’ natural instincts to flow and won’t give out any instruction from his end.

“Aggression (is) always there on field and you can’t do without aggression if you want to win,” Surya said.

“If someone wants to be aggressive that is his call. From my side I don’t give anyone any instructions,” Salman Ali Agha said.
