“serves and protects the people” is debatable, at least which people they primarily serve and protect is debatable
Just saw the “Dirty Hands” episode yesterday. Tyrol calls a strike because fuel working conditions are horrible (child worker just got maimed) so he was arrested and William Adama had his wife Cally arrested and threatened to execute her to get him to call off the strike.
I like that positive and idealistic view of these institutions.
The truth is, that one institution is supposed to protect the lives and properties of the wealthiest people. While the other institution has been founded to conquer more lands, property and fortune that the wealthiest, the ruling class, yearns for.
Don’t fall for their propaganda.
That’s a great quote if police hadn’t been created to protect land owners and businesses from the people.
I’m suffering from a little bit of eye strain right now but until I reached the bottom of that I was wondering why in the hell Max Weinberg said this.
Drawing from the same pool, over represented by racist trash.
