Police say they are treating damage to a car in East Belfast on Monday night as a 'racially motivated hate crime'.

Officers received a report of a large gathering of people at the Factory Street area at around 7:20pm on Monday, September 8.

It was reported that a driver of a car was approached by members of the group, who then left his vehicle. It was later reported the vehicle was damaged, as the crowd dispersed following the incident.

PSNI spokesperson said: "Enquiries are continuing and the incident is being treated as a racially motivated hate crime. Police would appeal to anyone with any information to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1189 08/09/25.
