Police say they are treating damage to a car in East Belfast on Monday night as a 'racially motivated hate crime'.

Officers received a report of a large gathering of people at the Factory Street area at around 7:20pm on Monday, September 8.

It was reported that a driver of a car was approached by members of the group, who then left his vehicle. It was later reported the vehicle was damaged, as the crowd dispersed following the incident.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Enquiries are continuing and the incident is being treated as a racially motivated hate crime. Police would appeal to anyone with any information to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1189 08/09/25.
