Lucid Motors said on Tuesday it will expand into eight additional European markets in 2026, tripling its footprint on the continent to a total of 12 countries as it seeks to boost sales of its electric vehicles.

The announcement came during a media Q&A session in Munich ahead of the European launch of the Gravity SUV, Lucid‘s second model.

The California-based company currently operates in Norway, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

As first reported by EV in December, Lucid will add Belgium to its network.

Lawrence Hamilton, the brand’s Europe’s president, confirmed on Tuesday that Denmark will also be among the new markets, while interim chief executive Marc Winterhoff said France will be included in the 2026 expansion.

“In total, next year our plans are to open in eight additional markets. So, we are rapidly expanding in Europe,” Winterhoff said.

The company has not disclosed which models will be available in the new countries, apart from the already expected mid-size SUV that is planned to arrive in late 2026 as Lucid’s third model.

In June, Hamilton told Spanish outlet Marca that Lucid aimed to establish a presence in the five largest European markets—Germany, the UK, France, Italy and Spain—within 18 months.

“Our priority over the next 18 months is to establish a presence in the five major European countries,” he said, while noting that adoption in Southern Europe had lagged other regions.

Lucid also opened orders in Europe on Monday for the Gravity, a three-row SUV that seats up to seven.

Orders are available in its four existing markets: Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Norway.

European deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first days of 2026 across the four markets.

The Gravity launches with the top Grand Touring edition, with a cheaper Touring variant to follow. Production of the entry-level trim is scheduled to begin later this year at the company’s Arizona plant.

Lucid currently has showrooms in eight European cities: Oslo, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich, Geneva, Hilversum and the newly opened Zurich studio.
