  1. Taking a leaf from the EU school of referenda – keep asking the same question until you get the answer you want.

  2. She can’t decide to hold a binding referendum herself. It’s quite clear that the UK government won’t give Scotland independence if a non-binding referendum was held, so holding a non-binding one would be a complete waste of time and money.

  3. Taking this à bit further : wouldn’t taking Scotland back in the EU a bad move? That would make it the most euroskeptic nation amongst the EU…

    Before the raging downvotes : I am pro scottish independance, and I myself spent 5y of my life there. I live Scotland and Scottish people (while I am neutral about haggis)
