LUMINAIR (LUA, Hamburg) has taken delivery of a first pre-owned Dassault Aviation aircraft, a Falcon 900LX, ahead of three factory-new units of the type expected later this year, as chief executive David Bergold initially revealed in an exclusive interview with ch-aviation in May.
The 2023-built jet, D-AFLY (msn 332), is configured for up to 14 passengers. It was delivered to Hamburg on September 5, flying under LUMINAIR’s ‘LUA’ code from Paris Le Bourget with a stop at Hannover.
Previously operated by Global Jet Luxembourg as LX-DPR since late 2024, the aircraft remained active until June 9, when it departed Pisa, where it was based, for Zurich and onwards to Paris Le Bourget. It resumed operations two months later with several test flights around Le Bourget and Paris Chalons-Vatry between August 6 and 8.
Global Jet Luxembourg continues to operate another Falcon 900LX alongside various Dassault types, including a Falcon 6X inducted earlier this year in the same livery and also based at Pisa.
At the 2025 Paris Air Show, LUMINAIR announced orders for three brand-new Falcon 900LX aircraft, later confirming these as msn 336, 337, and 338. ch-aviation research shows msn 336 will be registered as D-AJES, while the other two registrations remain undisclosed. Deliveries are scheduled for September, November, and December.
This Falcon 900LX is LUMINAIR’s first trijet, joining a fleet previously composed exclusively of Citation-series aircraft, including a Citation XLS, inducted in November when the carrier was certified, and two Citation XLS+ jets. Bergold has said the company is targeting a fleet of 15 to 25 aircraft by the end of the decade, with up to four types.
In Germany, Heron Aviation is the only air operator’s certificate (AOC) holder operating the Falcon 900 model, namely a Falcon 900EX and a Falcon 900LX.
