Film distributor Uncork’d Entertainment has acquired North American rights to horror film “The Hermit,” starring Lou Ferrigno as a cannibalistic pig farmer in his first role playing a creature since CBS TV series “The Incredible Hulk.”
In the horror film, which has an undercurrent of quirky irony, Ferrigno makes and sells jerky made of human flesh.
Uncork’d is planning to release “The Hermit” theatrically in the first quarter of 2026.
Besides Ferrigno, “The Hermit” also stars Malina Weissman (“A Series of Unfortunate Events”) who will soon be seen in Disney’s “Coven Academy.” The film is directed by U.S.-based Italian director Salvatore Sclafani and produced by Gerry Pass of Chrome Entertainment alongside Sclafani’s First Child Prods.
“The Hermit” is the first English-language feature directed and produced by Sclafani, a Palermo, Italy, native who has been living Los Angeles, where he produced the 2019 pandemic thriller “Tyger Tiger” starring Dylan Sprouse.
