Mark Hamill says The Long Walk is a “faithful” adaptation of the Stephen King book, and that it was a “thrill” to have the author approve of his casting: “That was motivation and validation for me”

King could have written a book about the Trail of Tears and the forced marches of the Plains Indians but he had to couch it in this dumpy fantasy novel, one of the few I’ve actually read of his.
In my opinion, the good Stephen King adaptations have been the ones that he has had a hand in directly… er…uh…directly had a hand in.
I’m excited to see it. I hope they kept the ending from the book.
Mark said in another interview that he was going to retire from screenacting altogether before getting this role. Happy he enjoyed it
My favorite novel of all time – without a close second place – is The Stand. Both tv adaptations have been terrible, with the most recent being a soulless, poorly written husk of the original with absolutely no part of it containing any sort of redeeming quality other than the performance of Glenn Bateman.
I really hope hbo makes an adaptation before I die – I consider it to be kings magnum opus.
Faithful except for the ending
It just hit me that Mark has been in two Stephen King adaptations this year with this movie and The Life of Chuck.
Mark Hamill is going to be the worst part of this movie mark my words
Hamill is a MASSIVE King fan. Meeting King for him is like Kevin Smith meeting Mark for the first time.
His pant fell down on set and he didn’t give a shit. What a guy
