Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have celebrated seven years of marriage, but not everyone is convinced their union is as smooth as it seems.
One of the latest voices to weigh in is Lady Victoria Hervey who dated Prince Andrew back in 1999.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Hervey didn’t hold back when asked about the Sussexes, admitting she was surprised their relationship had endured this long.
“I’m amazed their marriage has lasted as long as this,” she remarked, before suggesting it has only held together because of their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Hervey went on to argue that Meghan uprooted Harry’s entire life, only to return to her own roots in California.
Looking ahead, she speculated that any hope of a royal reconciliation would hinge on Harry proving himself to be a “changed man” though she was quick to add that, in her view, Meghan would never find her way back into the Firm’s good graces.
Victoria Hervey believes Harry must “make up” with King Charles “as soon as possible,” warning that Prince William may soon slam the door on any reconciliation.
Her comments come amid reports that the Prince of Wales views the idea of his father meeting Harry as “a terrible, terrible idea.”
A friend told The Daily Beast that while William respects Charles’s authority, he has little appetite for welcoming his brother back into the fold.
The lingering mistrust stems in part from Harry’s explosive memoir Spare, which accused William of physically attacking him during a row over Meghan Markle, allegedly calling her “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive.”
Hervey echoed the sentiment that the Duke has “serious work” to do if he hopes to regain William’s trust. Meanwhile, fresh claims about the Sussexes’ marriage continue to swirl.
According to GB News, he has been quietly charting his own course for months, reportedly working on new ventures separate from Meghan in what insiders have dubbed a “professional divorce.”
One source insisted the strategy isn’t about division but balance, “Harry is unkindly described as the ‘spare’ to Meghan’s endeavors.
In reality, he has been giving her the space to flourish. Now it is his time to throw himself into exciting new work.”
