FLINT, Michigan — The City of Flint will host the final press conference in its Small Business Grant Program series on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. at On the Bricks Food & Spirits, located at 555 S. Saginaw St.
Mayor Sheldon Neeley will join representatives from LISC Flint, the Social Impact Philanthropy Initiative (SIPI), and local business owners to announce the last group of grant recipients. Each business will receive $20,000, with a total of $400,000 distributed to support Flint’s small business community.
Funded through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars approved by City Council, the program has provided critical investments to 20 local businesses this year. City officials say the grants help entrepreneurs expand operations, reach new customers, and strengthen Flint’s economic future.
“This program has never just been about funding—it’s about fueling growth, creating opportunity, and shining a light on the entrepreneurs who keep Flint moving forward,” Mayor Neeley said.
The press conference concludes a summer-long series recognizing local business owners. All 20 recipients will be formally honored at a celebration hosted by LISC Flint later this month.
