  3. Well… the Prince and Princess of Wales are the ones who will be leading state visits in the future. Might as well make sure they are as involved as possible now

    As much as I like William and Kate, I hope Trump’s visit is full of very loud protests – the official welcome, the carriage ride, Kate and Melania’s engagement with the scouts – I truly truly hope everything is tainted with protests.

    I hope everyone comes out to loudly protest this. What’s happening in the US is headed the UK. William is literally rolling out the red carpet for it.

  20. For those upset about FLOTUS & PPoW- Catherine also did a solo trip with Dr Biden when she was FLOTUS.
    State Visits- even if you absolutely cannot stand nor agree with them- is their literal job. QE mastered shade & I have no doubt that tradition will carry on

  26. So they’ll be doing what they’ve done on State Visits since they became Prince and Princess of Wales? Isn’t this the same schedule they did for the French State Visit? 

    This is their job. It’s been the job of heirs to the throne for a long time. They all do this: meet and greet at the airport, photo-op in the palace, and then a State dinner. Usually that’s the extent of their activities unless the King or Queen isn’t available to do solo events with the President or First Lady. It’s Camilla who will be entertaining Melania since their positions are equal. 

    Hopefully people will be out protesting.

A lot of “it’s just their job” and no consideration that they probably like Trump and are excited to welcome him.  Wasn’t William just photographed socializing with  him at another  state event a few months back? Do William and Catherine see  an opportunity to enhance their likability and popularity with the brexit types [akin to maga in the US] by aligning themselves with Trump and his ilk? They are “apolitical” but can wink and nod toward their preferred world views. There’s nothing in their history at all that leads me to believe they be anything but fully pro Trump.

  33. Unpopular opinion but the more I learn of William, the man is an ass. He is so opposite his father in terms of humility and humanity and is turned into a stone cold pillar of an aged monarchy just waiting his turn to be King and exommunicate his entire family. Charles has been dragged through the mud for decades for having relations with the woman he always loved and couldn’t marry but we act like William is such a saint when he is abrasive, physically assaulted his own brother, and is now cozying up to a fascist, felon and dictator.

    Little Bill is probably eager to have his ego stroked by the leader of the MAGA regime.
