If farage or his overlords had their way, probably the entire UK.
There seems to be a big shift for right-wing stuff in the west these days, all seemingly pushing to plunge us into authoritarian type nations.
It’s not an uncommon view within Wales either, tbf.
I work for NHS Wales and I’m 80% sure I would lose my job if Reform got into power in the Senedd. They would strip NHS Wales to the bones and likely transfer health back to West Minster, before abolishing the Senedd. Fun!!!
It’s not politicians it’s reform and any fucking idiot who has fallen for farages bull and votes reform is a traitor to Wales.
Reform are the political wing of the global oligarchs.
The same way that Sinn Fein are the political arm of the IRA
Reform would be devastating for Wales & the UK.
Never forget that Farage has been best mates & still supports Trump, who is a convicted fraudster, sexual offender & in the pedophile Jeffrey Epstein files.
We don’t want someone leading the country that calls a sexual offender & child trafficker a friend!
Wait, The far right party that wants to use fear mongering about migrants the justification for dismantling democracy is in favour of dismantling democracy in Wales?
I am SHOCKED!?
PLAID CYMRU!!!
If they want to abolish it, why are they running in it?
Scotland used to have numerous of the top 10 most deprived areas within the UK. Now I believe we have none. Most of this happened under our own devolved government.
Without having a strong, unified voice to champion your country, region, fucking whatever, we are too easily bypassed. The same goes for Wales, and N. Ireland. The opposite can be seen in England that still somehow lacks devolved parliaments, it’s like a gradient of misery the further you get from the heart of power, ie London/SE England.
No. Because fundamentally they do not think Wales is a country or that we should be able to govern ourselves. They see us as their rightful territory, nothing more.
Given how Laura Anne Jones talks about the Senedd, how she switched parties to ensure she can get reelected (to the institution that she obviously despises so much) , then Rupert Lowe who insists on calling it “The Assembly” gives you some idea of how much they give a shit about their job and their constituents.
It is almost like they just want to collect the salary and pension….they have a good role model in that respect…wasn’t there a Reform MEP who did something with fisheries….now what was his name?
If they succeed in damaging the Senedd, then it will just be practice and a precursor for what they are going to do next, to Northern Ireland, to Scotland and then to Westminster.
I’m ok with this if we also get rid of Stormont and Holyrood. For me devolution doesn’t work or matter, either go full national unity or go full independence. Local decisions are made by local councils, and national decisions like security, laws etc. are made by Parliament. I understand devolved governments decide their own spending on health, education based on their budget – but really, what’s the point !? Could just be done at the national level and be equally as effective.
‘Politicians’
The article is an opinion piece with a picture of Nigel Farage… The politician he’s talking about is…well Nigel Farage
Not even Nigel can abolish a damn thing without the people voting for it.
I find it MAD how so many Welsh people think we’re uniquely incapable of running ourselves. They don’t want to abolish the English mayors or unitary authorities. It’s Wales that can’t have the privilege of self government.
Will Hayward is a national treasure. The work he does on bringing to light the issues and injustices we face in Wales is second to none.
For Wales see Wales is a podcasts he co-hosts that I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to know more about the state of Wales.
I live in northern Ireland and the parliament here has been a fucking disaster, I’d get rid of it in a second.
Wales is a vassal as far as Reform is concerned.
Exit for me but not for thee.
Perhaps generalising but reform will have the support of the elderly right-wing English retirees and disillusioned Welsh working classes
In the post-industrial areas that labour have failed.
Wales isn’t a country though.
It’s functionally no more than an economically impoverished county of England with a really shit Rugby team and language that sounds like a phlegm attack.

A vote for Reform is a vote for England
