Macron names close ally Lecornu new PM • FRANCE 24 English
The handover of power will take place in the building behind me, Meton, the prime minister’s office on Wednesday. Freru will hand over power to Sebastian Lornu, a 39year-old who’s loyal and very close to the French president Emmanuel Macron. Any hopes the socialists may have had that Macron would choose from their ranks have been dashed. Since Macron came to power in 2017, Sebastian Lornu has worked in his government in various roles. He’ll be leaving the Ministry of the Armed Forces to take on yet another very complex task. The communicate released by the LIS palace says his first task will be to consult the political forces in parliament with a view to adopting a budget for the nation. now getting a budget through the French parliament. That was the downfall of Fran Beeru and Michelle Bier before him because France’s parliament is very divided with powerful blocks on the left and the far right. We’ve already seen reactions from the various political opposition parties and groups accusing the president Emanuel Mong of being in denial about where French politics is at about hoping nothing needs to change and he can go on and name yet another centrist prime minister and ally. Has being the prime minister become a poison chalice? Sebastian Okornu certainly has his work cut out and that’s an understatement.
French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday named armed forces minister and his close ally Sebastien Lecornu as the new prime minister to replace Francois Bayrou as the seventh premier of his mandate. The formal handover of power between Bayrou and Lecornu is due to take place on Wednesday at midday. FRANCE 24’s Claire Paccalin reports.

It will only weaken French democratic capabilities because Macron party is in minority. Whereas, he doesn't want to work with the leftist but it will only deepen the crisis rather than resolve it
