  1. ***The Telegraph reports:***

Five of the Russian drones downed in Polish airspace could have been targeting a Nato military base, according to reports.

Polish, Dutch and Italian fighter jets were scrambled to intercept a wave of Russian drones in the first-ever direct engagement between the Western alliance and Moscow.

An unnamed Nato officer, cited in a report by Germany’s Die Welt, said the drones were on a direct flight to the base, which was also unnamed.

No one was killed or injured during the incident, in which about 19 drones, including Gerbera decoy UAVs, crossed into Polish airspace during a raid on neighbouring Ukraine.

Two of them were [shot down by Dutch F-35s](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2025/09/10/nato-russia-drones-shot-down-poland-fighter-jets/) involved in the operation to counter the Russian incursion, while the three others crashed in more mysterious circumstances.

The base was said to be linked to the supply of military equipment to Ukraine.

It was claimed that the details were shared during a security briefing late on Wednesday from the preliminary findings of Poland’s domestic investigation into the incident. The Telegraph is yet to independently verify the contents of the report.

It was possible the drones were headed for Rzeszow airport, which is close to the border with Ukraine and the main hub for shipments of aid to the war-torn country.

The airport’s traffic was briefly interrupted during the seven-hour-long incident.

  2. How about establishing a no fly zone over Ukrainian airspace?

  3. Russian drones were testing Polish defenses and response times tactically and NATO responses strategically. Don’t discount this.

  4. That’s Article 5 then. What if they actually reached their target ? Nothing will done as well lol

  5. Disable the factories building the drones, I.e bomb them
