A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Croatian company DOK-ING and South Korean defence company LIG Nex1 has been signed in Seoul on Wednesday.

The agreement will see the two companies cooperate on the development of next-generation unmanned ground systems.

“As we announced during the Seoul Defence Dialogue and in talks with the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Korea, we want to strengthen Croatian-Korean relations, particularly in the field of defence industry cooperation,” Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Ivan Anušić said following the signing.

He highlighted that the partnership marks an important step not only for DOK-ING but also for other Croatian defence companies seeking access to the Korean market and closer cooperation with the Korean defence sector.

“With today’s signing, we are opening a new chapter in relations between our defence industries, and more broadly, building stronger ties between Croatia and Korea,” Anušić added.

The minister praised the quality, precision and competitiveness of South Korea’s defence industry, noting that linking Croatian and Korean companies will boost both industrial and economic cooperation.

He congratulated DOK-ING and LIG Nex1 on their new partnership and future business success.

The Korean Armed Forces are already users of Croatian-made unmanned systems, and the Ministry of Defence sees opening new markets and strengthening Croatia’s defence sector as a strategic priority.

“In today’s increasingly challenging security environment in Europe and globally, developing Croatia’s defence industry not only contributes to national security but also to economic growth,” Anušić said.
