Power has been restored to most of the 21,000 consumers who were without power in Alto Minho at 12:19 p.m. today, with 1,800 still affected, E-Redes reported at 4:24 p.m.
According to a company source, the 1,800 consumers still without power are from the municipalities of Valença, Vila Nova de Cerveira, Caminha, Castro Laboreiro, Melgaço, and Arcos de Valdevez, and there is no estimated time for their restoration.
The power outage also affected areas of the municipality of Ponte de Lima.
According to a company source, the outage occurred at 12:19 p.m. at the hydroelectric plant in the parish of Sopo, Vila Nova de Cerveira, the cause of which is still unknown.
