Stockholm has allocated the country’s 20th military aid package to Kyiv with a total value of SEK 9.2B ($836M). The support includes the purchase of 18 Archer artillery guns, artillery ammunition, and long-range drones (approximately SEK 3.6 billion), with a focus on artillery and long-range capabilities. The maritime component will see Ukraine acquire radar systems, landing ferries equipped with mortars, pressure chambers, and crane vehicles (SEK 2.1B). In the area of air defense and space, Sweden is buying ammunition, sensors, and control systems for the Tridon air defense system that has already been transferred to Ukraine, as well as equipment for air base operations and sensors for detecting drones and missiles (SEK 3.5B). Additionally, Swedish government has also proposed increasing military aid to Ukraine in 2026, adding another SEK 31.5B and extending support through 2027, maintaining a total of SEK 40B in military assistance for 2026-2027. Sweden also intends to significantly boost its civilian aid, proposing at least SEK 10B annually in 2026 and 2027, and at least SEK 10.5B in 2028.
