  1. > In the new Netflix documentary aka Charlie Sheen, Cryer looks back on his former costar landing a massive payday for Two and a Half Men amid some high-profile personal struggles.

    > “He’s in the midst of falling apart in every way that I can imagine, and he’s renegotiating his contract for another year of a show that I’m supposed to be on too,” Cryer recalls in the doc.

    > The Pretty in Pink actor goes on to compare Sheen to a prominent political figure. “The dictator of North Korea was a guy named Kim Jong-Il. He acted crazy all the time and thus got enormous amounts of aid from countries who were so scared of him that they would shovel money at him,” Cryer says. “Well, that’s what happened here. [Sheen’s] negotiations went off the charts because his life was falling apart. Me, whose life was pretty good at that time, I got a third of that.”

  2. Well Sheen did have at least three times as many drugs to spend money on.

  3. When Sheen left the show sucked. So…there you go.

  4. Because Charlie was incredibly famous. He was a high B tier actor

  5. 1/3 of 1.4 million per episode is still an ungodly amount of money, shut up allen

  6. Hesucky he got that in fairness. The draw was 100% Sheen and maybe the kid.

  7. Didn’t watch the show after Sheen left. And Cryers character changed so much after to try and compensate for the loss of Sheen.

  8. To be honest, the show would of survived if Jon Cryer was replaced however it wouldn’t and didnt once they decided to get of the mainstar.

  9. Sheen fucked up a guaranteed 1.2 million per episode. Back then there was like 20-30 episodes per season. How do you become so delusional you walk away from that? His career has nosedived off a cliff. He can’t even be brought back because they killed him off

  10. Should be happy he paid that much compared to Sheen.

Sheen was highest paid sitcom star for a while, right?

And even T&HM fans thought the show went downhill after he left.

  11. Cryer hasn’t been relevant since pretty in pink

  12. The viewers tuned in because of Charlie. Any other actor could have been replaced except him.

  13. That is still 650K per episode, I don’t feel bad plus he stuck it out longer.

  14. I think Sheen had been in quite a few movies by then and even with his other issues he was still the draw so yeah, higher salary makes sense.

  15. I’m honestly not even sure how he even got this role. He was Ducky and then nothing and boom 25 years later he’s in a sitcom.

  16. I mean, he’s not a great actor. So that checks.

  17. Since when is the more famous person not paid more

  18. I remember reading this…14 years ago lol but facts are facts

  19. I mean Charlie was the star of the show, Jon Cryer was pretty much unknown compared to him.

  20. …and? Does he forget which of them had a career prior and since?

  21. That’s why his last name is Cryer… not Earner.

  22. I mean, that makes sense, no? Charlie Sheen was a movie star and most people didn’t know his name wasn’t Duckie

  23. Get mad at your agent, not the guy everyone was tuning in to see.

  24. Clearly it’s because of Hollywood sexism! Wait…

  25. Opening band doesn’t make as much as the mainliner. Mild shock
