  1. Slovenia, Spain, Ireland and the Netherlands. Momentum is picking up. It becomes easier and easier for more to join us.

  2. There are quite a few countries following suit, and to be fair to TVE in Spain and the Spanish government, I think they actually moved before RTE did btw.

  3. Dutch here.
This is more a sentiment of the company that works with the dutch contestents and everything then that its a country stance on Israel and Palastine, just saying.

Netherlands is very much pro jews , and thus pro Israel , because history ww2 and all that and they cant divide the one from the other that is currently happening.
I have no dog in the fight, just relaying what this actualy is, its not a country statement.

  4. The right thing to do and fuck Eurovision anyways, Ban Russia (correct thing to do) and give Israel a pass saying the Eurovision is not political. Let Russia back in so.

Saying it’s not political is such BS as Israel promote how well they do in Eurovision as Europe being in agreement with their treatment of Palestine.

But I prefer if a load of Eurovision countries boycott and then it gets cancelled

    Deny Israel the platform.

  5. It’s win-win. We win because we dont have to complain about Israel nonstop while watching, RTE wins because if for some reason the ESC refuse they dont have to pump money in to lose in the semi

  6. I do think there is finally a shift. It’s dumbfounding how it took so long to me, but it’s happening.

    Finally.

  7. Warnings should have been issued in 2024, it’s long overdue boycott and sanctions.

  8. Such a low stakes yet impactful way of showing protest to war crimes, any country on the right side of history here should do the same.

  9. YES! These are the kind of actions we need to take. The more countries that join in a peaceful protest, the better.

  10. 2025 Eurovision will be a three way context between Israel, UK and Germany

  11. If enough countries threaten to drop out, they’ll risk losing money from not being able to do qualifying anymore

  12. It only took Israel bombing a Petro-State. Better than doing nothing I suppose.

  13. To be fair the Netherlands were already pissed at EBU for their treatment of Joost last year, so this just gives them a morally grounded reason to strike back.
