A bit over a year ago I posted this graph I made which got taken down because I didn't properly follow the rules (sensationalism or something). Now, I've chosen to repost it to announce I'm redoing the research in order to properly collect data I overlooked last time.

Also, this time everyone can answer, not just street surveyors lol. You can check my latest post on r/SampleSize to participate

  1. Why was there only an option for dark brown and not light brown? Or just brown in general?

  2. Great presentation. And love that you had to clarify (2.7% answered other (not blue))

  3. OP – you need another option in the survey. Tan / light brown / brown (even just one) should have been a choice. Going from dark pink to dark brown is WILD. No wonder 50+% chose that option.

You do realize there are as many shades of brown nipples as there are of pink, yes?

  4. How about a methodology reliability test? Have an intimate partner of the surveyed also respond as well. My light(ish) pink may be my significant other’s pale red. Kinda but not entirely /s.

  5. Men, women, or both?

Where were these 383 people surveyed? NYC, Omaha, Nairobi, Bangkok?

  6. Room temperature nipple colour specifically? Probably worth bearing in mind that temperature and hormonal cycle are likely to affect this.

  7. I mean, what’s the city? Demographics are relevant here

  8. Which country is this?

Among native Europeans all that would be shades of lighter pink, in Asia and Africa just darker shades of brown.

  9. This is some grade A content, just on phrasing and presentation alone.

  10. Don’t you just have to look at someone’s lip color to know their nipple color?

  11. Was the survey response data verified by visual inspection?

  12. This is so confusing. Why isn’t the actual question that was asked referenced **ANYWHERE** on here? It should be at the top, so when you look at “xx% answered…” you know what fucking question they’re responding to!!!

  13. There are so many variables!

I’m a white woman. I go between peach and purpley/pink depending on the temperature…more pinky-purple when it’s cold, but peach is the standard baseline.
And is it just nipples, or are areola included? Because both can be different colours at the same time.

Fascinating study, but you could definitely take this further!!

  14. I cant tell if im inbetween dark and light pink (which looks like purple on this chart…) or just pale red (pink?) lol

  15. so wait… a random dude went up to women on the street and asked them what color their nipples were?

I just want to know what is the percentage of “fuck off” or variants of such.

I hope you were at least wearing a hi-vis vest and carrying a clipboard, cause that seems to make people ok with most things.

  16. Mine would have counted as other. They change colors from deep pink to light brown depending on the temperature 😅

  17. I didn’t even know people would *have* a specific preferred nipple color. I personally think it looks better when its just a slightly darker/pinker tone than whatever their skin color is.

  18. Dang and here I was holping there were people out there with blue nipples
