Hyundai battery plant faces at least 2-3 month startup delay following ICE raid, CEO says. About 475 workers, mostly South Koreans, were arrested. The plant, part of a $7.6B EV factory complex, was to come online this year. “For the construction phase of the plants, you need specialized people.”

Every American should be outraged by this unprecedented attack on a private business. The people who were arrested, shackled at the waist, ankles and wrists and detained for almost a week are legitimate engineers, contractors, and trainers sent to help open a new factory that will provide thousands of good US manufacturing jobs and pay US taxes. And it alienated a staunch US ally that is investing billions of dollars in the US economy.
Remember when Trump promised that his new personal ICE army would only go after rapists, criminals and illegal immigrants? These Hyundai employees were none of the above. They were here temporarily to help the US. Now they’ve gone back to South Korea and it’s unclear if and when the necessary replacements will arrive.
Republicans, your mad king is insane. You all need to stop him before it’s too late.
