  1. You wouldnt think to look at him he would end up being a vicious and evil mass murderer.

  2. Genuinely curious, as an outsider, why is it Ireland always seems to support all of the enemies of the West? Or is it just a Reddit thing?

Like, I don’t personally care, not my country. Hell, I’m half Chinese, I know all about being on the “other” side. But it’s just interesting so how it passionately Ireland seems to be anti-West. Is it just an extension of being anti-British? What’s the root of it?

  3. The original poster seems to have just made that up by the way so it looks like you might just be spreading misinformation.

  4. That can’t be true. 1956 was the start of the Cuban revolution which he was heavily involved in. He certainly did visit Ireland briefly on the way back from Prague in 1965 though and his father said he had Irish revolutionary blood. His Father was a Lynch.

  5. Che Guevara was living in exile in Mexico in 1956 planning a revolutionary attack on Batista’s Cuba, which happened in Nov of that year

I doubt he had time to pop over to Ireland to pitch his tent in Lisdonvarna for a trad festival (or wherever he’s supposed to be doing)

  6. Was he the racist guy that hated Africans, and the homophobe who literally murdered gays? The sadisitc guy who had people tortured?

    Downvote if the truth hurts!

  7. This may sound like a ‘true story’ but my father bumped into him in a pub.

My old man was found of a pint back in the day (what we would now call a raging alcoholic), he was moved to Clare for work abd one Sunday night when the pubs were closing himself and a few of the other lads decided they fancied a few more beers and headed to Shannon airport. I think the pub there had different hours
(My father is long dead and he told me this story when I was a teenager). Anyway, after a few more beers my old man headed to the toilet and wandered around a bit. He pulled a curtain aside to go through somewhere and lo and behold- there was che Guevara walking the other way
My dad recognised him and said a quick ‘howya’ and che said something back to him. All a.long time.ago now

  8. But you guys still look up to him tho, you admitted yourself he was most likely a homophobe (which he was) I thought you lot hated those that were homophobic?

  9. Irish reddit hates tyrants and empires unless its communist in which they drop to their knees and start kissing those shinny red boots…..
