    NASAMS takes only US made missiles (for now). The other systems use European missiles.

    I thought the point of this was for Europe to be able to defend itself? (And it was going to be from facilities in Germany).

  19. Great to see. This is because we are true allies, whereas America has shown that its just business. America puts a price on everything. Their handling of the Russian invasion just goes to prove this point.

    The Baltic 3 and Belgium should be next with SAMP/T NG. Joint buy using EU SAFE funds/loans.

  25. So they go for the Iris T and the Samp T. Good. If these programs mabage to skale up they’d become cheaper and way faster to produce.

    Thats the issue with the european made kit. It is good but there’s never enough capacity to produce at scale.

  30. Politics aside a degree of ‘biodiversity’ in defence procurement can never do any harm. Both geography (borders) and ideology can change. A degree of organic, native skills is a necessity if only to navigate through the snake oil when down selecting systems.

  32. Also, the SAMP system only requires 14 people to operate, whereas the patriot system requires 90!!! Also P only had four rockets, SAMP has 8.
