Cargolux will expand its operations between Luxembourg and China following the signing of a deal between the government and Chinese officials, the economy and transport ministries said in a joint statement on Friday, in the latest deepening of ties between the two countries.
Extra flights between Luxembourg and Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, will be added from next month, the government said in a press release following a visit by a delegation from Henan to the Grand Duchy on Friday.

“In light of growing demand, particularly related to e-commerce, two additional weekly flights will be added in October 2025, increasing the total number of flights to 21,” the Luxembourg economy and transport ministries said.
The visit saw the two sides sign a memorandum of understanding between “the Zhengzhou Airport Economic Zone (ZAEZ), the capital of Henan, and several Luxembourg companies”, the statement said, as well as a “co-operation protocol” between Cargolux and the Chinese state-owned Henan Civil Development and Investment Company (HCNA), which bought 35% of the cargo airline back in 2014.
