Snow days were epic days of discovery at school in the 80s.
There was always an oil fuelled boiler that froze and stopped working (as an adult that sounds a bit sus) and we were basically told to sack the day off and try our best to get home.
I remember once when I was about 11 me and some friends decided that we should head up to see a local landmark on top of a hill (Hartshead Pike)
It wasn’t quite like that photo but with a blizzard it seemed like it!

Where’s the beasts though?!? I’m sure my mum and dad said they had to fight with some sort of beasts to make their way
Hah! So they were the push kids with their crampons and walking poles eh. Barefoot for the rest of us lad, and we were bloody grateful for the opportunity I can tell you.
