Polish military officers will arrive in Kyiv on Sept. 18 to coordinate efforts with Ukraine on countering drone attacks and strengthening air defense cooperation. The move was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha at a joint press conference with Danish counterpart Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

Calling Russia’s recent drone strike on Poland “a new phase of Russian aggression,” Sybiha stressed the importance of aligning Ukraine’s air defense with European systems and deepening bilateral work with Warsaw.

“The Ukrainian side had informed Poland in advance about the flight of these drones into Polish airspace. We expect the Polish military delegation to arrive on Thursday to work with our forces. Today, only Ukraine has the necessary experience in how to counter such challenges,” Sybiha stated.

He noted that during the latest wave of attacks, Russia launched nearly 800 drones against Ukraine.

“Look at our efficiency rate. Unfortunately, war forces us to gain daily combat experience, but this is also our contribution to collective security. Our partners understand this, and we are ready to share our experience to minimize and neutralize threats to our common security space,” he added.

The announcement follows a Sept. 10 incident when about 20 Russian drones entered Polish territory, several of which were shot down. Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski called the overnight incursion “no accident.” He added that any claims of a Ukrainian “provocation” echo Kremlin propaganda.

NATO ‘Acting, Not Waiting’ – Rutte Unveils Operation Eastern Sentry

NATO’s Secretary General announced the launch of Operation “Eastern Sentry” on Friday to defend NATO’s eastern flank, as Zelensky warned that Putin still wants all of Ukraine.

“This penetration of Polish and NATO airspace by Russian drones is a moment of truth. The drones entered not only from Ukraine, but also from Belarus. The air battle lasted seven hours. This is not an accident, and anyone who says it was a Ukrainian provocation is either the author or an accomplice of Russian propaganda,” Sikorski stated.
