  1. I’m not entirely sure about the video’s intentions, but it’s impossible to say there never was a Muslim Viking. Whether through raiding or trade, the two worlds came into contact with all its implications.

One of the best sources describing the vikings—from an Islamic perspective—is a narration by Ahmed Ibn Fadlan (10th century). Among his descriptions of society and some of their customs among the Volga Vikings (the Rus) which includes everything is known about the burial cerimony, he even mentions the existence of conversions for the sake of trade. Therefore, despite a possible limited exposure (in contrast with the christian world) it’s impossible to say it wasn’t possible to 1\2 (or 10) actually being muslins. After all, the Norse converted to Christianity quite readily.

Vladimir the Great, of the Kievan Rus, even considered converting to Islam and only ruled it out because of the prohibition on alcohol consumption.

  2. Not watching a Bullshit-Hansen video, lol.
    Pseudo-Viking Andrew Tate.

  3. Well, Nordic religion was based on things that are associated with Islam today.

  4. > Nu ha vi sagt upp de gudar som voro våra egna, och det kan vara rätt i ett främmande land, där andra råda; men om jag når hem igen en gång, kommer jag att bry mig mera om dem än om denne Allah. Men här tror jag att han är den bäste, och vi ha redan fått guld för hans skull. Och jag skall skatta honom än mera när han också ger mig kvinnor.

  5. Those dumbasses are on the same tier as flat earthers and 5G conspiracy theorists.

  6. When we leave history aside just look at the etymology of the word viking, some berber tribes could be called vikings as well as they were coast raiders.

  7. Of course there were Muslim Vikings. Vikings travel the world, raid pillage rape. They could raid pillage and rape Muslims. Muslim has baby. Viking, Muslim baby. You are welcome.

  8. wasn’t there a mosque with runes written on the wall?

  9. Based Bjorn.

Insane predictors who think the Vikings were islamic for some reason. Probably paid for by the same interest groups that approached Bjorn.

  10. Hansen is Norwegian/Danish, a Swede would be called Hans(s)on. Guy itself is Norwegian. Hans, of all people you should be able to detect ethnicities.

  11. You have to see the pros of people wanting to rewrite history. Now you can say:

Muhammad was a Viking by profession, Welsh by tradition, and Arab by culture.

This way, you avoid saying that Muhammad was a thief/looter, that he had a close bond with his sheep, and that he liked very young girls, for some reason they don’t like it when it’s said like that

  12. It’s quite likely that some were. Scandinavians regularly traded in Baghdad and in the Muslim-held parts of Spain

Islam was also the religion of Merchants, it expanded rapidly along trade routes wich was how places like the Swahili coast and modern-day Indonesia were converted. It turned out that uou got better prices and could get easier along when sharing a religion.

Idk while it wouldn’t have been a large amount it’s still not that farfetched.
