Yes! Started turning it on a couple of days ago. We are in an old house though…
Mine is on a thermostat and yesterday was the first time it came on since about May.
Literally first time just now. Freezing this morning
I’m a dad for the last few years so I’m telling everyone to put in more jumpers even though I’m cold myself.
I don’t want to be this guy, but it’s my responsibility.
Yes, but only for an hour .
Last night was the the night
Yes, last night for a bit!
Not a chance. This isn’t even jumpers temperature. It’s long sleave time.
Might light the fire tonight. Some fuel in the shed from last year.
Had to stick it on and open up all the windows to drive the damp out 😔
Try and hold off until mid October. This is fine with a big duvet on the bed. Temperatures still good during the day.
Our heating runs on electricity, and at these prices, that’s a resounding NO. Until I see ice crystals on the window, its jumpers all around….
But we have double glazing and good insulation, meaning its not so bad inside, and worst case, I bake a cake, which will provide food and warmth 🙂
I done my first run up to jonesborough for coal yesterdsy and lit thd fire last night. It was bliss
No im bar tight and last year the stove wasn’t lit till November as October was very mild. Keep pushing through lads.
Ya, on Thursday I was coming down to the kitchen and I saw the thermostat gone into heating mode and heard the boiler. Thursday was the first day after summer that the heating kicked in. We are officially in winter.
(It’s set to 21, so overnight temperature in kitchen hall dropped to below that … brrrrrrr)
Yeah, just 1h a day for now
I wear snoodies now. The only heating I need is for the tap in water.
For those of us in a certain build quality, yesterday morning was the first time I thought it’s time to turn it on. It’s not just the temperature outside though, combined with your house losing it’s residual summer heat, it’ll keep going downhill.
Meanwhile we have the BER A folks laughing into their morning coffee, they suffered during the height of summer, but now the turns have tabled.
I woke up this morning and I’m wondering what scrap wood I can cut up for the fire this morning.
Not the heating but had the electric blanket on last night
Put the heat on this morning!
It’s not even October
It’s on right now.
Moving into a new build hopefully by Christmas. Done with feeling cold in poorly sealed houses so will be burning every bit of oil in the tank until then.
I’m still cracking open the window at night and sleeping with a fan 😂 but hospitals are disgustingly warm, hoping they don’t start cranking the heat 24/7 soon or il simply pass away 😂
Be sure to open d windows first so
Not a chance yet….im very lucky though and built an A1 rated house…it will be mid to late October before I will think of putting it on.
Now don’t ask me how much it cost me to build this fecking thing….
Trying to keep it off until the end of the month 🤞

No. Not yet but to be honest, it’s not that cold.
