  1. I like to think somewhere in middle American there’s someone in a Uni of Loughborough shirt.

  2. When I lived in Preston, mid90s, there was a trend of the University of Central Lancashire students wearing UCLa hoodies, it was a wonderful twist, that typical font, and just the lower case a

  3. Love the idea of yanks walking about with CUMBERNAULD on their jumpers.

  4. My mum isn’t even from the UK she just love shopping at Primark whenever she is on vacation there. So I got one lying in my pile of hoodies somewhere

  5. Matalan used to be great, you could buy a load of plain t-shirts in various colours, and then one day they just began to put random numbers on the shirts, like a number 4 on a blue v-neck… Or a number 3 on a Polo shirt… Needless to say I stopped going to Matalan.

  6. Seems to be a lot of Americans wearing stuff with Wrexham on the front all of a sudden 😛

  7. Noticed Japanese cities are back too, thought that was late 2000s thing

  8. It’s the same as shirts and hoodies that have the word ,authentic, on them.
The actual authentic item of clothing would have been branded very discreetly.

Unless it’s Superdry and then your just a walking billboard

  9. As an American I’m Loling at this. It’s like Brits love either New York City or the state of california in general.

  10. I always thought this. This is literally 90% of mens fashion lol.

  11. To be fair the universities they put on them usually don’t exist. Some may but I checked a few that absolutely didn’t. May as well have been university  of Sealand.

  12. I have a Miskatonic University hoodie, but I think that’s ok. I’m a former US/UK dual citizen and I did once see an American in the states in a University of Bedfordshire hoodie, I can’t imagine any of the actual students at the University of Bedfordshire would wear such a garment, not even on a dare or bet.

  13. Sooo used to do print design for primark – they basically want to do things that looks like other things minus the copyright / trademark cost. So you make up universities or football teams or whatever that don’t exist …

  14. It’s a particular style. Have you heard of such a thing? If not, stick to plain tees but make sure you are onboard with where they’re made as that will likely offend you too.

  15. I have a t-shirt for Baton Rouge. Even Americans wouldn’t wear it. Baton Rouge is a shithole. Only bought it because I found it funny.

  16. I’d get one if it was the university of Pyongyang

  17. I had a friend from America come over to visit from last year. We were walking around a town and there was a teenage girl with a jumper that had the name of the state he was from written across it. He assumed she was from there or at least had some link to the place and tried to strike up a conversation. I walked him to a Primark afterwards to show him some clothes just have American name places on them for some reason but knew I would find some there.

  18. My mum is from the Philippines and I’d often see locals there wearing “LONDON” or “ENGLAND” shirts together with garbled lines on them like “LIVE FREE LIFE”
