    He’s been an asset for Russia since the ’80s. Putin has records photographs tapes videos and enough evidence that would put Trump and his whole regime in prison for a long long time. Donnie won’t ever cross his Daddy.

  6. This is a pretty good window into the way that Trump sees the world.

    The purpose of sanctions is to incentivize behavior from the target of your sanctions. Whether any NATO members buy Russian oil has nothing to do with whether Russia’s behaviors need to be changed through sanctions.

    So by doing this Trump reveals that he doesn’t actually care about Russia’s behavior. He’s doing this because he doesn’t like NATO, and he’s doing that thing where once you sort people into your outgroup, you that latch onto any evidence you can find that confirms that your outgroup is bad. And for him, the idea that a NATO member might still be buying oil is hYpOcRiSy for all of NATO, and so maybe they deserve Russian aggression.

    This is the opposite of principled, reasoned governance.

    Trump: I tried everything to stop this war by bringing hurt on Russia, but it’s all those dozens upon dozens NATO countries and the EU and Zelenskyy that are preventing the war from ending. No one’s been tougher on Putin than me. And that’s why I’ll ask again to lift all sanctions against Russia.

  26. The US will never impose sanctions on Russia under Trump. It will never support Ukraine militarily under Trump. At best, the US will sell out of date weapons to profit off the suffering of Ukrainians. Any Ukrainian, European or world leader who thinks otherwise is delusional. The only hope for Ukraine is a Europe that becomes awake to the danger and finds the courage to act. The US has already gone.
