Foreigner here, I hear a lot of these stories, but at the same time, I also see Glasgow ranking among the most dangerous cities in Europe in terms of crime. Can someone explain this stark contrast to me? I don’t know what to think of the city anymore…
Meet a Glasgow man at a gig and be will hand you a few eccies or a line, top blokes gig wise
Proud to be a weegie, brought a wee lump to my eye and a tear to my throat watching this 💪
I once caught an Uber to GRI, and a few seconds after getting out the car, I realised I’d left my phone on the backseat. Fuck! Instantly turned round to approach the car again, but he was already driving away. Was gutted and knew there wasn’t much I could do until I got home after my appointment, but realistically assumed I’d probably never see that phone again. Had never been to GRI before so wandered about like a plum trying to find the relevant area in the massive building, and sat down in my waiting room quietly stewing over my stupidity. I had ended up wayy too early for my appointment so had plenty of time to kick myself over it. Well, after about 15-20 minutes my Uber driver walked through the door into my waiting room – I could not believe it. I think I startled everyone with when I blurted out ‘Are you fucking kidding me?!’
Apparently he picked someone up right after me and they immediately informed him of my phone on the backseat, and this guy actually took a chance in returning to a very busy hospital, parked up somewhere (I’m assuming he was charged an arm and a leg) and found the correct waiting room in the right deparrment (I had mentioned what my appt was for) while I was still there. I mean, I could have been and gone for all he knew. Or been sat in an entirely different area/waiting room. But he still went out his way just in case he’d find me. I was so, so thankful. Expressed my gratitude to him there and then, and also added a £20 tip onto my fare.
I agree. Wife and I spent a couple weeks in Glasgow this spring and found Glaswegians some of the nicest people we’d ever met.
We spent part of our honeymoon in Glasgow and had an amazing time! The people we encountered were especially great and we are trying to plan another trip back as soon as we can.
You caught Glasgow on a happy weekend bender, the same city at 10:30 on a Monday will not love you back.
Let me taste the kindness. 🤣
Whos this tarrier cunt?
Love from glasgow
Irishman here. Glasgow is an amazing city, made better by the people. And there’s nowhere else like it.
As a person from Ireland whos moving to Glasgow in about two weeks time, while I’m nervous, at the same time, cant help but be more excited and just really looking forward to moving there.
His story reminds me of all the times I was travelling to Scotland there last year and this year lol.
The fellow Glaswegians are actually lovely people man for real.
Couldn’t help but just smile at this video, great bunch of lads:)
