Great picture and it absolutely does sum it up! Sun lovers to the right, everyone else to the left please!
UK is one of those places where you can have a heavy rain for 5 minutes, then sunshine for an hour, then heavy rain for another 5 minutes. Rince and repeat (no pun intended)
Yes
literally just had heavy rain and now it’s sunnier than it was for half of summer
That’s how we like it.
Nice
Having moved here there are three things that I now believe were highly exaggerated to me in Australia. The UK has poor quality food, bad beaches, and the weather is dreadful.
Great angle!
I’ve got the same kind of thing but in two different pics taken 10 minutes apart, it was one of those days for a lot of us today.
Bit of sun, bit of rain, bit of snow, lovely.
I’m in the Lake District right now, and it’s been 30 minutes of torrential rain followed by 30 minutes of glorious sunshine for most of the day. Very difficult to plan around.
As my nan used to say: “if you don’t like the weather, just wait 10 minutes”
Is that the embankment in Bedford? Just past the weir? Heading up to the bandstand.
If there’s one thing you can say about Bedford, it does have a nice river
Yup, just been out shopping. Pissed it down about 5 times then the sun came out and it felt nice. No wonder I’m gonna get a migraine or cold now
I took a photograph similar to this two days ago in Essex – it was very strange pitch black one side then sunny the other 🤣
This happened not long ago to me, i looked at one window and it was bright and sunny, the other had pissing down rain
UK . Four Seasons in one day.
Genuinely true. I’ve had moments where the sky was stormy grey at the back of the house, and clear clue and sunny at the front.
I cut my grass today. It said rain but the sun was out, managed the front and back gardens and got the hedge trimmer out. Put it away in the shed and the heavens opened, then it was sunny, then there was the loudest clap of thunder I’ve heard for years and the it poured down and went pitch black. The rain abruptly stopped and the sun came out 😂this must have been in the space of an hour. I will also add it was a lovely 20 degrees so I was in shorts and tshirt. Don’t know if it’s always been like this or I just didn’t remember it when I was younger (mid thirties now)
At the risk of being guillotined, I just had a similar experience in Normandy. In between random heavy rain showers and blustering winds, I somehow managed to get sunburned on my neck. Do they complain about it like we do?
I was in Ayrshire the other day driving on some country roads. Lots of hills and valleys. Funny thing was everytime I dipped into a valley the rain was battering me, coming down real hard. And then as I ascend a hill it stops and there’s sun and blue sky. Right until I go downhill again and into a wall of water. This happened over and over again, I thought it was quite funny
i love a grassy river bank.
Read my mind
No. Not really.
Missing heavy rain on the right and a bit of hailstones on the left.
