   Also as someone who knows tons of folks at companies like Amazon/ Tesla, I don’t see them pay lesser per se for H1B holders and the amount they pay is something most Americans will also sign up for, I guess the difference which translates to better performance, is the willingness for those on visas to work harder as they’re more desperate.

4. Companies hire H1B’s over Americans not because they’re paid less, it’s usually just a tad more than your regular workers, they do it because they can work these people to the fucking bone.

   If you tell me to work 80 hours a week I’ll laugh at you and change employers.

   If you tell an H1B that and they try the same thing, they’re deported unless they find a new employer to sponsor them within 60 days.

   It’s incredibly exploitative and absolutely modern day indentured servitude. Companies have these poor dudes by the balls and treat them like trash. Give them a 180 day grace period instead of 60 and these companies wouldn’t even bother hiring them.
