Elsewhere on the Riviera, the Grand-Hôtel du Cap Ferrat is one of the Four Seasons’ three properties in France. Should the producers lean into that partnership once more, the Grand-Hôtel is the only one of their properties set seaside. Perched atop the cliffs of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat in between Nice and Monaco, the venue maintains an exclusive Palace distinction (only 30 other hotels across France share the honour) and is celebrated for its legendary pool and beach club, Le Club Dauphin, which offers dramatic views of the jagged coastline.

L’Apogée Courchevel

If the Riviera’s sunny opulence feels too similar to season two’s romp along the Sicilian coast, an alpine ski season set amongst dramatic snowcapped mountains, champagne-soaked après-skis, designer snowsuits, and multimillion-euro chalets could provide fresh narrative fodder for the series. While White has gone on record to state his distaste for the cold, L’Apogée Courchevel, whose interiors were designed by India Mahdavi and Joseph Dirand, could be luxe enough to lure the warm-blooded showrunner to the slopes. After all, Courchevel is known as one of the most tony ski resorts in France.

Hotel Costes Paris

Though White has also gone on record to say that filming in Paris would feel “like a cop-out” due to the mesmerising effect the show has had on the local economies of seasons past, where better to capture the affluent creative set than the ever-chic, moody and seductive Hotel Costes?

Art Basel Paris has become the new darling of the art world, and the City of Light’s design-forward hotel, which was recently given a facelift by Christian Liaigre, is a sleek alternative to the ornate 18th-century French classical style seen in most of the Palace hotels in Paris.

Just 50 minutes outside of Paris sits the enchanting Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay, a 12th-century monastery that was recently transformed into a hotel and spa by French hospitality experts Paris Society. Spread across 185 acres of untouched French countryside, the estate once belonged to Baroness Charlotte de Rothschild and has become the preferred weekend escape of well-heeled, in-the-know Parisians. The location is rather remote, but perhaps that’s a selling point for the show’s producers. Plus, there’s no shortage of charm found throughout the estate’s dreamy suites spread across the manor house; former stables, bountiful gardens; and leisure activities like beekeeping, boating, tennis, pétanque, and more – plenty of venues for a bloody good time, we’d say.
