Bologna, and Emilia-Romagna in general, is usually overlooked by tourists due to being sandwiched between two monumental cities, Florence and Venice. But the cobbled red-and-yellow streets of the area are some of the most beautiful places I have seen, as rather than a few memorable landmarks the entire city is a harmonious story.
It’s so nice to walk through medieval, built-for-human streets that have not changed for centuries. It gives you a unique sense of understanding of the culture, food and its people.

I spent a day in Bologna on my way through once, I absolutely loved it there.
The way the streets are designed in Bologna is almost surreal. I am convinced that everyone should visit Bologna at least once and see the porticoes with their own eyes.
