1. I feel like these people are just lambs being sent to slaughter. Groen will need some1 to blame for their inevitable horrible results at next election

2. My main source of confusion after Rousseau’s Molenbeek debacle (which I still believe was not intended to be as xenophobe-baiting as it has been extrapolated to be), was why he was going after VB voters instead of after Groen. I couldn’t figure it out.

   But it might make sense, actually. Groen is imploding at a rapid pace without any other party having to put in any effort whatsoever. They’ve completely wasted any and all momentum to define themselves as THE non-traditional progressive party (like Ecolo or the Greens in Germany have, and Groen-Links did up until they also lost big time to D66). And those voters kind of have nowhere to go but to Vooruit. They won’t flock to the liberals with Lachaert as chairman, perhaps they would’ve with Tommelein.

   I guess Rousseau is counting on passively stealing Groen’s voters by letting Groen be Groen, while actively chasing VB voters.
