Fans of combat sports are surely familiar with the name Dana White, who recently drew extra attention as one of the promoters of the Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford fight.

However, the UFC president made headlines for a different reason: his idea of staging a UFC event at the White House, an initiative backed by Donald Trump.

UFC at the White House: What to Know About Dana White’s Proposal

In recent statements, Dana White confirmed that preparations are underway to host a UFC event at the White House in 2026.

Supporting the plan, Donald Trump—his longtime friend—suggested that the event could take place between June and July of next year.

On his official Instagram account, the head of the mixed martial arts organization doubled down, declaring: “We got it done today,” during a livestream video.

White House spokesperson Steven Cheung echoed the excitement and reinforced White’s announcement: “This will be one of the greatest sporting events in history, and the fact that President Trump is hosting it at the White House is a testament to his vision for celebrating America’s monumental 250th anniversary.”

The uniqueness of the proposal lies in the venue itself. Sporting events at the White House are rare, although there have been precedents—such as teeball games organized by former President George W. Bush.

While the project is not yet official, White has already sketched out what the event might look like in an interview with The Wade Concept: “We’ll have fewer than 5,000 fans in the South Lawn, and then in the park connected to the White House, we’ll host 85,000 people with screens.”

He also revealed that a massive stage is being planned for the occasion, with a lineup of live performances: “We’re going to do concerts. We are literally, literally taking over Washington, D.C., for the entire week,” he concluded.
