Hello, I'm doing the registration and I have a question. Here, do I choose untill when I want to be registered for (say, from now untill sept 2026)? Or is it when I start living in the address I'm registering?

  1. this form here asks you to register your apartment. you register it when you start living in it.

  4. You cannot set the end date now. You can deregister in September 2026.

  5. It’s the time when you are registering. The beginning.

  6. By the way. If you move in 29th September you still start paying 1st September. Whatever day you registered with *Einwohnermeldeamt* is the official day.

    It doesn‘t help to „round up“, they know.
    (Did that, didn‘t work).

  7. The entire copy could be phrased a lot more clearly.

    I don’t understand why they don’t take into account non-native speakers or native speakers with learning difficulties. “Amtsdeutsch” needs to die.

  8. Does anyone know how much time does it take to get this changed and get a confirmation in case of address change? I initially did it once and but forgot to save the confirmation PDF. Did not receive anything from them, so did it again and this time saved the pdf. But still waiting for their confirmation
