In May last year, fire crews extinguished a large blaze at hair and beauty clinic The Chocolate Af’hair at the Onehunga Mall.
At the time, seven fire engines, three ladder trucks and two specialist vehicles worked to extinguish the blaze alongside numerous support vehicles and a fire investigator.
In August of the same year, an Auckland barber shop was badly damaged by an overnight fire – just months after its last salon was burnt down.
That salon was on Weymouth Rd, Manurewa, and was burnt down in January in what was described at the time as a suspicious fire.
