  1. India has unveiled a multi-layered defense plan centered on the Israeli-Indian Barak 8 missile system, capable of intercepting aircraft, drones, and missiles.

    The $1.6 billion 2017 deal for Barak 8 was Israel’s largest defense export until Arrow 3’s sale to Germany.

    Under Modi’s Make in India push, India aims for full strategic site coverage by 2035, while DRDO develops longer-range local interceptors for integration with Barak 8 and Russia’s S-400.
