A 63-year-old man was arrested during a protest outside a hotel housing asylum seekers in Falkirk.

Police Scotland said the suspect was charged in connection with threatening and abusive behaviour following a demonstration near the Cladhan Hotel, on Kemper Avenue, on Saturday.

A force spokesperson said: “He has been released on undertaking to appear in court at a later date.”

A number of protests and counter-protests have been held in recent weeks outside hotels housing asylum seekers in Falkirk, Perth and Aberdeen.
