I apologize for the rant in advance!
Good Afternoon!
For context to this, I am a Canadian, the family on my father's side was slovenian and much was lost due to an out of wedlock birth, as well as general records being harder and harder to find as ever parish kept records through the church and every one was different, and likely in different languages of which I am not familiar with. I do speak some german, 2 different dialects not fluently, but that is unfortunately not enough to cut it. My Great grand parent's names were Rogina and Vajdetic which are extremely localized and there is very few of us in North America. For the Rogina side of the family they were from a village called Stara Lipa in Črnomelj. Now I have a love for history, ancestry, etc which is why this is why I've gone as far as I've done. But I was wondering if I had any modern relatives out there that might have these names because it is so localized to this specific region where no one else in the world has. Below is a link that traces all the way back to the Original Rogina household (Roginovi) in the region which got it's name later changes (To Halekovi) as you'll find on the website.
To reiterate my question, I am wondering if I have any modern relatives out there with more information to this region that may know something I do not. I understand it's a weird thing to put here but there is quite literally no where else in the world that they are 😅
The Vajdetic family I have even less information on. All I know is they came from the similar region but is also a name that really ceases to exist, unless there's people around nowadays that still have it over there

Maybe you do. I suggest travelling to Slovenia and going to a municipality Črnomelj and ask for help. Go from there.
did you check Matricula online? [https://data.matricula-online.eu/sl/slovenia/ljubljana/](https://data.matricula-online.eu/sl/slovenia/ljubljana/)
Try with Matricula. This is a project where they scanned thousands and thousands of church books that contain births, deaths and marriages. [https://data.matricula-online.eu/en/slovenia/ljubljana/crnomelj/](https://data.matricula-online.eu/en/slovenia/ljubljana/crnomelj/)
Some parishes even added a lot of additional info in the books, for example: “Moved to Canada” or sth…
Worth a try.
I checked and there’s only 15 people with the surname Vajdetič. Then there’s 248 people with the surname Rogina in Slovenia, 49 of those in Lower Carniola.

according to phone book people with surname Rogina still live in the area
Yeah i know a guy from around those parts with that surname. Somewhat common.
My former classmate’s last name was Rogina and she was from Bela Krajina, Dragatuš, if I remember correctly.
