In the early hours of September 15, after 7:00 PM on September 14, Russia launched a missile-and-drone strike on Ukraine: three S-300 surface-to-air missile systems were damaged and about 84 strike unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were involved, including Shahed and Gerbera.

The Air Forces of Ukraine reported that during the air raid, air defense systems destroyed 29 drones.

The missiles came from the Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation, and the drones from Kursk, Bryansk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtersk. About half of them were Shahed-type drones.

Aftermath of the night strike and the operational response

The attack was repelled by aviation, air defense missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile firing groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data as of 09:00 Ukraine time, air defense destroyed or suppressed 59 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types in the north, south, and east of the country.

The assessment of the circumstances and measures to further neutralize the threat is ongoing, with air defense units, electronic warfare units, and the air defense forces working in coordination.
