Italy, Germany, Spain, and Poland are in the spotlight as Ryanair increases its winter flights, providing low-cost breaks to cultural capitals and off-the-beaten-path gems throughout Europe. With its new winter schedule, Ryanair is making it simple and inexpensive than ever to see Europe’s most famous cities and lesser-known gems. Whether you’re drawn to the art and history of Rome, the medieval allure of Lübeck, or the festive markets in Wroclaw, these new routes provide unique opportunities for travelers seeking cultural immersion, all while enjoying the lower costs and fewer crowds that come with the winter season.
Ryanair has announced a fresh addition to its winter flight schedule, as it continues to expand its network despite recent reports about some cancellations. A new route between Birmingham Airport and Rome Ciampino will be launching on October 26, 2025. This service provides an excellent option for travelers eager to explore the Eternal City, with regular flights operating three times a week: on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Rome Ciampino Airport, located just outside the city’s main hub, offers an easy entry point for those looking to experience Rome’s ancient charm. While Rome is typically seen as a summer destination, the fall and winter months bring a different side to the city. The cooler weather, with temperatures averaging between 13°C in December and a pleasant 23°C in October, makes sightseeing more comfortable. This is a welcome relief from the intense summer heat, which can soar as high as 32°C in August. The fall and winter months provide tourists with the perfect conditions to explore Rome’s iconic landmarks, such as the Colosseum, the Pantheon, and the Trevi Fountain, without the crowds and sweltering temperatures.
In addition to the new Birmingham-Rome route, Ryanair is also expanding its offerings from London Stansted, with four new flights scheduled to depart in the coming weeks. One of these new routes heads to Trapani, a picturesque city on the island of Sicily, known for its historical salt pans, stunning beaches, and charming old town. Flights to Trapani will begin on October 27, with departures every Monday and Thursday. Visitors to Trapani can enjoy scenic walks along the salt pans, where they may even spot pink flamingos, particularly between September and November when the birds gather in larger numbers.
Also on October 27, Ryanair will introduce a route from London Stansted to Lübeck, a northern German city steeped in medieval history. Lübeck is famous for its brick Gothic architecture, and a standout attraction is the Holstentor Gate, a symbol of the city’s rich past. Lübeck offers travelers a unique glimpse into Germany’s medieval heritage, with cobbled streets and historic buildings at every turn.
For those seeking a blend of art, culture, and a relaxed atmosphere, Ryanair’s new route to Münster, set to launch on November 3, offers just that. With flights operating three times a week, this route connects London Stansted with a city renowned for its beautiful canals, artistic vibes, and impressive castles. Münster is a popular destination for cyclists, thanks to its flat terrain and dedicated bike paths, making it an ideal destination for a leisurely exploration.
As part of its winter service expansion, Ryanair is also adding flights to Murcia in Spain, as well as continuing its route from London Luton to Wroclaw in Poland. Wroclaw, often described as one of Europe’s hidden gems, has a lot to offer travelers in search of a unique city break. One of the city’s highlights is its Christmas market, one of the largest and most festive in all of Poland, making Wroclaw an excellent choice for a winter getaway.
Ryanair’s expansion of routes through the colder months provides travelers with the chance to visit exciting and historic destinations across Europe, all while avoiding the summer crowds. Whether you’re planning to explore the artistic treasures of Rome, enjoy the festive spirit of Wroclaw, or immerse yourself in the medieval charm of Lübeck and Münster, Ryanair’s new offerings make it easier than ever to discover the best of Europe.
With one-way tickets available from as little as £32, Ryanair is making it more affordable than ever to take a winter escape. Whether you’re looking to experience Italy’s rich culture, explore the beauty of Germany’s north, or discover the warmth of Spain and Poland, these new routes provide a range of exciting possibilities. So pack your bags and get ready for a winter adventure across Europe!
